Ancient Languages

Anyone else interested in the languages of the past? The ones I know most about are Latin and Hebrew, but I leave this thread open to discuss any language of interest that anyone may have.

Thirty years ago I was interested in Sanskrit. I learned the alphabet and could read and write a limited amount. Not the most practical language in the world but at the time I was interested in reading the ancient Vedas and other ancient Hindu scripts in the original.
